1. Our Commitment

At Spectra, we believe your worship data is sacred. Audio from your sermons is processed entirely on your local machine and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted to any server.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Account & licensing (all tiers, including Glow)

Spectra requires a free account to activate — including the $0 Glow tier — so your plan can be tied to you and to a single presenting device. For every account we store:

  • Your email address, for account sign-in and management
  • A device identifier and device name for the machine you activate on, along with activation and last-seen timestamps — used to enforce single-device licensing and to let you move your license to another machine
  • Your subscription status, held with our payment provider (Paddle or Flutterwave, depending on your region). Glow is recorded at $0 and no payment details are collected for it
  • Limited security logs (activation and device-move events, and the IP address they came from) to prevent license abuse

Activating and periodically re-validating your license requires an internet connection; between checks the app keeps working offline for an extended grace period.

When you subscribe to a paid plan we additionally process:

  • Payment information — collected and processed securely by our payment provider (Paddle or Flutterwave, depending on your region). We never see or store your full card details
  • Basic usage analytics (feature usage, crash reports)

3. AI Sermon Notes

Spectra's speech recognition runs entirely on your device (see Audio Processing below). The optional AI Sermon Notes feature is the one exception: to generate structured notes, the sermon transcript text(never the audio) is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, processed to return your notes, and is not used to train models. If you don't use this feature, no transcript leaves your device.

4. Audio Processing

The AI speech recognition model (Moonshine ASR) runs entirely on your device. Audio captured by your microphone is:

  • Processed in real-time on your local machine
  • Never sent to any external server
  • Never recorded or stored to disk
  • Discarded immediately after processing

5. Third-Party Services

We do not sell, share, or provide your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes. We rely on a small number of providers to run the service:

  • Supabase — account authentication and storage of your subscription and licensing records
  • Paddle and Flutterwave — our payment providers (used by region), which handle checkout, payments, and billing
  • Anthropic — processes your sermon transcript text only when you use AI Sermon Notes (see above)
  • Sentry for crash reporting (opt-in, anonymized)

6. Data Storage

Your slides, media, and app settings are stored locally on your machine. Some optional features sync to your account so they're available across activations — your saved song library and, if you enable it, cloud-backed sermon notes. Everything else stays on your device, and we never access your content for any purpose other than providing these features to you.
